“Every purchase supports jobs and training for people who need help going to work,” said Terry A. Hayes, Tacoma Goodwill CEO. “It’s a way for people to invest in their community.”
Revenue from Goodwill’s retail outlets fund employment and job training programs for people with disabilities or other disadvantages. It can include everything from counseling, training and employment placement as well as programs for youth.
Goodwill also makes available a Tuesday Club for shoppers age 55 and older who sign up at any Tacoma Goodwill store. On Tuesdays, club members receive 10 percent off all purchases. The Tuesday Club program started in 2004.
