TACOMA – A job fair with employers focusing on young adults will be held Wednesday in Tacoma Goodwill’s new Milgard Work Opportunity Center.
The event is free and open to the public and will take place from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the REACH portion of the Milgard Center, 714 S. 27th St. For information, contact Goodwill Youth Outreach Specialist Dee Quintanilla at 253.573.6634 or dquintanilla@tacomagoodwill.org.
“We encourage participants to please dress professionally, bring extra resumes and be prepared to be interviewed on the spot,” Quintanilla said. “Besides finding out about local firms and government agencies, there’s also a chance to learn more about the programs available through Goodwill and REACH.”
Employers scheduled to be on hand include Commercial Driving Services (CDS), Exotic Metals, Marshalls, ACS, Menzies Aviation, Pre-Paid Legal Services, Mary Kay and The Unique Company. Other government agencies and educational institutions include Tacoma Community College, Job Corps, Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department, and the Social Security Administration.
REACH, Resources for Education And Career Help, is a separate agency from Goodwill – a collaboration of 11 agencies providing workforce development services for young adults 16-24. REACH is located on the first two floors of the Milgard Center.

About Tacoma Goodwill
Goodwill is a unique nonprofit business. It turns donations and business revenue into programs that change lives by helping people with disabilities or disadvantages go to work. This year, Tacoma Goodwill Industries will help more than 7,500 people with education, job training and placement so they can become independent self-supporting citizens. Of these, 1,200 people with barriers to employment will be placed in jobs in the community.
