Assist in Goodwill stores
Come to any of Tacoma Goodwill’s 27 stores across a 15-county service area and learn new skills while supporting the agency’s mission to help people with disabilities and disadvantages go to work. Store volunteers act as greeters, help shoppers and arrange merchandise, besides a variety of other duties. For information, contact a Tacoma Goodwill store. For a complete list, click here.

Financial Literacy tutor
Teach students effective money management skills following an existing financial literacy curriculum as part of Goodwill’s Key to Change program. Prefer background in banking, credit, real estate, insurance or similar field. Most importantly: An ability to relate to people. Minimum time commitment of two hours per quarter. Computer Lab Assistant
Assist lab instructor in teaching computer skills to people with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Help prepare lesson plans and perform other tasks as requested. Job Resources Room Assistant

Golden Oldies Guild
A wide variety of volunteer opportunities exist within Tacoma Goodwill’s Golden Oldies Guild. This vintage fashion show group performs throughout the South Puget Sound region. Volunteers may model or help models dress, serve as a show commentator, organize shows, schedule models, or hold a Guild office. Store Helper
Help store staff with stocking, pulling dated merchandise, keeping shelves clean, and maintaining a tidy store appearance. Hours as arranged. For information, contact your nearest store.

Mock Interviewer
Help Goodwill participants develop successful interviewing skills by conducting mock interviews. Interviews are held once every two weeks during a three-hour class, or as specially arranged. For information, contact James Watts, Workforce Navigator, 253.573.6814 or jwatts@tacomagoodwill.org.

Job Readiness Instructors
Help students learn to find and hold a job. Topics include resume and cover-letter writing, dressing for success, interviewing skills and appropriate workplace behaviors and attitudes. Volunteer instructors will use existing curriculum, making appropriate modifications when necessary. Administrative Office Volunteer
Provide support to a variety of departments within Goodwill’s administrative offices. Help with filing, sorting, mailings, computer and printshop work and other tasks as requested. Hours as arranged. Internship Opportunities
Goodwill will create unpaid customized internship opportunities for those interested in working with people facing barriers to employment. Opportunities may also exist in various departments (human resources, marketing, etc.) according to current needs and special projects. E-Commerce Sorting
Discover valuable art, antiques, collectibles, jewelery, books and other items in our donation warehouse. Knowledge of collectibles and antiques would be especially helpful. Flexible hours generally for at least three hours, three days a week, Mondays through Fridays. E-Commerce Photography
Photograph valuable art, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, books and other items in our donation warehouse. Knowledge of digital photography and ability to upload images to a computer are key.
