The Goodwill Foundation is committed to bringing Goodwill’s mission to life through fundraising and community outreach efforts. The Foundation’s goal is to provide the framework for financial giving to support Goodwill’s job training and placement programs for individuals experiencing difficulty in the workplace because of a disability or disadvantage.

Campaign for Goodwill (FY2007-2009 | GOAL $12M)
To support the construction of the Milgard Work Opportunity Center, the Goodwill Foundation used a balanced fundraising approach, with a third of the total coming from Goodwill financing and the remaining funds from private donations and government sources. The campaign reached the $12 million major gifts goal in September 2009!

Ready-to-Work Campaign (FY2010-2011 | GOAL $3M)
To expand the services provided in the Milgard Work Opportunity Center and to support REACH in its beginning years of operation the Goodwill Foundation has launched a two-year Ready-to-Work campaign.  This campaign continues the financial suppport of our new facility, provides more investment into our mission services and helps with the start-up costs of the collaborative REACH center. Visit our Ready-to-Work page to learn about our limited offer of personalized Community Welcome Wall Tiles and Vertical Garden Pavers to support

Scholarship Fund  (On-going | Annual GOAL $200,000)
Most annual gifts received are a critical portion of Goodwill’s Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund are Goodwill’s only source of flexible funding dedicated specifically to helping individuals get the training and support they need to go to work. To learn more about the Scholarship Fund and how you can support people at Goodwill, visit our Scholarship Fund page.

Grants
Grant-funded initiatives have contributed heavily to mission services as Goodwill strategically and successfully targets grants that fit programming goals. In 2009, Goodwill received more than $3.6 million in grants that funded major programs such as YouthBuild and Projects with Industry.

Special Events
Each year Goodwill hosts annual fundraising events in support of the Scholarship Fund. This year, events will take place May 3 in Tacoma, June 14 in Yakima and Sept. 13 in Longview. Our 2011 Goodwill Ready-to-Work events are highlighted here.
