With classes available in Longview, Tacoma and Yakima, the Career Pipeline Project in Warehouse & Logistics provides an opportunity for WIA-eligible older youth and low-income adults to receive a general warehouse clerk certificate.
Approved by local employers, this 11-week program provides all the entry-level and career advancement skills for the manufacturing, warehouse, transportation and logistics field. The program is taught by Tacoma Community College faculty using interactive video technology connecting students at the Tacoma, Yakima and Longview Goodwill Work Opportunity Centers. Classes are kept small, allowing for hands-on support in the classroom. What’s more, you can earn up to 12 college credits with Tacoma Community College.
The course includes:
- basic computer skills
- customer service
- work-readiness
- a general warehouse clerk certificate
- forklift certification offered off-site, one day only from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m
- on-the-job work experience completed at an employer’s location and may vary from 3 to 6 weeks long
- placement assistance
