Learn to be a Commercial Building Custodian (18+)
Goodwill’s Custodial Skills training is a Washington State certified vocational training program designed to prepare students for employment in the competitive custodial and medical cleaning field. Training combines classroom instruction with hands-on training within Goodwill facilities.
With a low instructor-to student ratio the program is individually tailored to student needs and students may enroll at any time. All aspects of custodial duties are covered with focus on obtaining proper work skills as well as professional work behaviors.
Course Content Includes:
- Medical & environmental cleaning techniques
- General office cleaning, restrooms, minor maintenance & repairs
- Cleaning compounds
- Floor care including cleaning, stripping and restoring
- Hotel/Motel hospitality
- Fire safety
- Health hazards
- Building security
- Professional window cleaning
Students are taught proper use of traditional janitorial equipment as well more specialized equipment including:
- Wet Vac
- Portable Carpet Extractor
- Pro-Team Super Coach Vacuum
- High and Low Speed Buffers
- Upright Vacuum
- Propane Buffer
- Auto Scrubber
