Thank you to all the businesses, community members, donors and individuals who attended the RTW 2016 luncheon!
Together with 535 Goodwill supporters, we were able to raise over $215,000 for scholarships for our participants with disabilities or disadvantages who are ready to invest in themselves and find that first job or second chance.
The program was inspirational, featuring heartfelt testimonials from several of our participants. Keynote speaker Wes Moore, author of The Other Wes Moore, spoke about how our relationships with people different than ourselves define our communities.
The READY TO WORK luncheon spotlights people and partners that help make our mission work. It is also where we ask the community to support our mission by making a donation to our DreamMakers Scholarship Fund. This Fund, replenished annually at this event, helps underwrite the cost of enrolling vulnerable community members into our job training and education services. We also ask for event sponsorships from businesses in the area, so we can put 100% of the money raised to that Scholarship Fund.
