Three years ago Junie came to Goodwill with the encouragement of a friend who was attending Youth GED classes. Junie didn’t have a high school diploma or the skills needed to get a job that paid enough for him to support himself. He had been doing some temporary jobs, mostly construction and labor, where he found that the work was hard and the pay wasn’t enough to live off of. He decided to get his GED.
Through the years he has continued to take different classes offered at Goodwill. He recently enrolled in the Culinary Skills program and is enjoying learning all of the aspects of working in a kitchen.
He enjoys learning new things and wants to continue to increase his knowledge in a variety of skills. He dreams of being a DJ or music producer in the future.
Junie will be graduating from the program soon and is looking forward to using all that he has learned in the program.
